The hands on kids zone is lots of fun and the beluga whales are beautiful. Our favorite exhibit is the Jellies!

Super fun, the kids’ area is great. It’s a world-class aquarium located in Chicago’s museum campus. Parking is so expensive, as is the admission price. Try to find a way to get free tickets, like by going on a free day or becoming a member.

My family and I LOVE the Shedd. It is a great place to spend the day and their hourly shows are amazing. While I do think it is expensive for just a family day, you can join for a year for the same cost as going one time as a family of four. Plus, it is tax deductible! If you join online it is even less expensive then joining once you get there. Another perk if you become a member - NO waiting in long lines and free passes to special events. You also get priority seating at shows. Bonus!
As for the Shedd, I can look at the fish all day long. Each time we go we see something different or something we didn’t notice before. Looking for a great family gift? Then I would highly recommend a family pass to the Shedd.

I took my 8 month old son to the Shedd Aquarium on a free day. I thought it would be very over crowded but it was not bad at all. The location is easy to get to as I drive from the suburbs and can take I-55 all the way to Lake Shore Drive. The parking wasn’t that great. I thought it was kind of expensive and was a long walk in the cold to the Aquarium. I thought the Aquarium was child friendly though I didn’t think that there were many child friendly options for lunch (we went with a mother of a 2 year old). I also felt the lunch pricing was not budget friendly.
